Dr. Yacoub’s academic career is extensive, starting with pharmacy school in his home country Egypt and culminating with high honors a summa cum laude dental degree from Philadelphia’s own Temple University. While there, he was inducted into OKU (Omicron Kappa Upsilon), the National Dental Honors Society. Following graduation from Temple Dental School, he was selected to spend a year at the highly regarded General Practice Residency at Jefferson Abington Hospital where he received additional training in General and Hospital Dentistry.
Dr. Yacoub became a dentist, initially, to honor his late father who was a well-known dentist in Egypt. He has grown to love the profession for the interaction with patients and the immediate relief and satisfaction that a dental procedure can provide. Dr. Yacoub is proficient in pediatric, adolescent, and adult dentistry. He maintains a fine balance between being professional as well as sociable, creating a comforting environment, and exhibiting excellent chairside manners.
Dr. Yacoub is and has completed over 700 hours of continuing education since graduating from dental school. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania State Dental Association. In 2024 Dr. Yacoub received the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship award. This award is in recognition of his commitment to lifelong dental education and patient care.
Dr. Yacoub is involved in community efforts, including several years of 'Gives a Kid smile day' and leadership roles at 'Mom-n-PA' providing free dental service for the community.
When not improving smiles, Dr. Yacoub is a huge fan of Real Madrid and spends a lot of his free time watching soccer and spending time with his family and friends.
